Week 48

Hello my lovely family and friends!

This week was good! We mostly spent the week visiting members because our Branch really needs that right now. Well, I honestly don't remember what happened this week haha but here is what I do remember.

On monday I was able to meet some investigators that have been in our areabook for a while. They are so sweet! They are actually planning on moving soon. Like real soon back to Flordia so that is really sad. The ironic part is that our investigator has my last name as his first! 😂 Crazy! He is a crazy kid too but he was awesome! I am attaching some pictures of us down below. Also we got a call from JayJay and he told us that he had recieved his mission call! We are so excited for him!

On Saturday I was able to meet some of our amazing Meninite friends. Yes, they do still wear the pioneer clothing. Super sweet people! We were able to talk and get to know them. There names are Chuck and Susanna. We were also finally able to meet with our amazing baptismal date Betty Sell! She is doing great gospel wise and is so excited for her baptism date on June 23! She found out earlier this week that she has cancer so bad that it is littarly touching all of her organs. 😔 Cancer sucks. Anyway we were able to teach her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she told us that she has completly stopped smoking for a month now and stopped drinking coffee in over a month! How crazy is that?

Then on Sunday we both had to speak in Sacrament Meeting. It went well! Then after church we were able to watch Jayjay open up his mission call! He is going to Mesa Arizona and he leaves to go to the Provo MTC on September 5! So, if you are reading this Quinn look out for Elder Jones!

So yeah, that is pretty much my week! I know this gospel is true and I love this church so much!

I hope y'all have a great week!

Love y'all!

Hello my dear family and friends!

This week has been good. Definitely one of the hardest weeks, but it got a ton better on Sunday. No wonder why everyone says, "make it tell Sunday and your week will get better." Anyway here's what went down this week.

Highlights of the week
▪ Hanging out with the district on Monday.
▪ Visiting with miss Belinda. Always makes my day!:)
▪ District meeting
▪ FHE @ the Jones's.
▪ Helping out at the genealogy room
▪ Team up with Sister Emmert!
▪ Dinner with the Monday's.(some of my favorite people!)
▪ Lunch with Sherry Hamilton.
▪ Watching the cutest little 1 year old girl dance to the songs in sacrememnt meeting.

Cons of the week
▪ Waking up at 3 in the morning due to a huge thunderstorm
▪ finding out our car window wont roll up or down.
▪ windshield wipers feel off while driving and having to go get new ones
▪ Drove an hour and 30 minutes to Cookeville to get our car fixed but come to find out that it works perfectly fine as soon as we get there. (Just our luck)

So, as you can see we've had a lot of car issues this week, but I know they happend for a reason, I came to find out that God made all of those struggles happen this week to test our faith and obedience. It definitely strengthened my faith. I just want to let everyone know that if you have a tough week and a lot of things go wrong but alot of things went right, just make a list of the things that happened and look at the good and be thankful for those things that happened. I can promise y'all that if you do that then you WILL be greatful for the things that you do have.

I would like to close with a scripture:
Alma 32:21 And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

I would like to invite y'all to gain that faith that you need in order to grow and to become stronger in your life.

I love you all! Hope y'all have a wonderful and safe week!

Keep smiling y'all!

Love,
Sister Jensen ❤

Welcome to Tville!!

Hello my wonderful family and friends,

I hope y'all had a wonderful week! I sure did. This week I was able to see so many miricals happen and we were able to find so many new investigators! As y'all know, I was transferred to Tomkinsville Kentucky to be with Sister Jarman. Sister Jarman is one of my best friends already. Its sad because she goes home in a little less than 6 weeks! Sister Jarman is from Layton, Utah. Well, without further adew lets get started.

Monday:
My last pday in Chatt Valley. We hung out at the church and played games with the district. We played Chess and cards. Which was a blast and we signed each others trunky journals. After Pday we just said goodbye to some amazing people and went tracting for a little bit.

Tuesday:
We basacally just said goodbye to people that I really wanted to see before I left the next day. I was able to see almost all of the people I wanted to so, that was great! Then we went home and finnished packing.

Wednesday:
Transfer day! Sister Lathem was generious enough to pick us up at 8am to take us on a long 2 hour drive down to Farragut, Tennessee. There I was able to meet my new companion Sister Jarman and a couple of people whom I havnt seen in quite some time. After we were done chatting and catching up we headed off on another 3 hour drive to Tompkinsville Kentucky. We finally got home at about 4:00pm. I was exhasted, but unfortunatly our day wasnt over quite yet so we unpacked and went over to branch council were I was able to meet our branch mission leader. What a sweet guy, then we helped Sister Hamilton (the yw leader and the one who took us home) clean out the yw closet.

Thursday:
I was able to get unpacked and settled in. After, we started weekly planning which took up alot of our day. Then we had a appointment with some of our investigators. We saw Cliff and Troy who are investigators that Sister Jarman and her trainie found while OYMing. They are solid investigators and so ready to learn. After that we went and isited with a recent convert named Belinda. She is the sweetest person. Then we headed off to Jayjay's (Sister Hamiltons grandson.) High School graduation. It was good to get our names out there. :)

Friday:
We had district meeting! which took up most of the day. In our district we have Elder Odette, (Our district leader) Elder Knapp, Elder Lovell and Elder Barnes. All of whom are very nice. After we got home we walked across the street and talked with our landlords mom for a bit who is a very sweet lady.

Saturday:
We mostly just visited members so that I could get to know some of them before I went to church on Sunday. Everyone here is super sweet and super nice! I love this area so much. After that we went home and did our studies :)

Sunday:
What an amazing day! We went to church and we had to teach Sunday school and young womens. During young womens there was 4 non members there! We were able to talk to one girl named Natalie. She is so ready for the gospel and was asking a lot of questions about lots of stuff. We told her about Joseph Smith and gave her a Book of Mormon. She wanted us to come and teach her more! After church we went over to JJ's Graduation party and then went to a lesson. We taught this older women named  heather. We taught her the Restoration and she loved everything that we were talking about. The spirit was so strong and we were able to put her on date for June 23! A day after my birthday! It was so amazing. After that we went home and did our studies and went to bed.

I am loving this area so much and the people here in Kentucky are so nice! I know that this church is true and that I am here for a reason.

Keep safe and keep smiling y'all!

Love,
Sister Jensen

So, excited for another transfer!!!

Hello, my lovely family and friends!

This week was really good! We were busy with finding and everything like that.

On Monday, we started the day off by grocery shopping and fishing! We went over to the church building after that to hang out with the district and played some board games! We played clue for a while and emailed our families! I can say that it was a good time with the district! After we were done with that we went tracting and had dinner and went to bed.

Tuesday was another great day. We got a bible referral the night before for a lady named Dianna. So we went and delivered that to her. She was very nice and so sweet! She talked to us for about an hour! We taught her some things about Joseph Smith and gave her a Book of Mormon as well! After Dianna we went and saw Brother Marcus, who is a inactive member. He was very friendly and loved talking with us. We told him that he was always welcome to come to church! Right after Brother Marcus's lesson we went over to a part member families house. There names are Cheston and Adah. Cheston is a member, but Aduh is not. We were able to get to meet with them and share a little message with them. They are super nice!

Wednesday, we went and volenteered at the old folks home again! We called Bingo and painted the cute old ladies nails and just sat and talked with the activities director for a little bit. I told her that I might be leaving and she was suer upset about it and she gave me a hug. After our volenteer work we went tacting for a little bit and went over to the Jessee's for a dinner apointment! We had this really delicious homemade Lasania. oh, I'm telling you guys it was sooo good! We were there for the rest of the night. haha

Thursday we had cleaning checks and we past the inpections! wahoo! Celestial housing y'all!!! Then we finnished our studies and headed out for tracting. We spent most of our day tracting but we were able to meet with the Campbells as well! So, that was awesome! We were able to share a message with them and then we went home and had some dinner.

Friday we had Interviews with President Pickett and then district meeting, which took up a big chunck out of our day. Then we went home to bake some cookies for our neighbor and ended up talking with them for about a half our just about what we do as missionaries. They kept asking us questions. So, it was a great teaching oppertunity.

Saturay was the day that y'all are waiting for. TRANSFER CALLS! It turns out that I will be leaving Chatt Valley and going to.... drum roll please... Tompkinsville Kentucky!! It is on the very north part of our mission so close to Lebanon! My new companion will be Sister Jarman. Im so excited to go serve the people there! After transfer calls we went and handed out waterbottles and otter pops at the chickamauga down home days! It was really fun! Then we went and tracted a little and visited some people and went home!

Sunday we went to church and it was sad to say goodbye to the people in the ward. Im going to miss them all. After church we went home and did our studies and went tracting and had a dinner appointment with the Forresters.

That is pretty much my week. I love y'all and hope that you have a fantastic week! I know that this church is true and the Book of Mormon is true! I love and miss you!

Stay safe and keep smilin'!

God is good!

Hello, my lovely family and friends!

Wow! What a busy week this was! I dont know about you but, this week has just gone by way to fast! I can't believe that this is already week 5 of the transfer! Well, we had another fantastic week here in Chatt Valley! This week was filled with Power ups and Stake Confrence! We also did a ton of tracting this week as well!

I forgot to mention in last weeks email, Alan who has been investgating the church for 40 years got baptised this last week! I was so excited when I heard the news!

We started off our week by finding another service oppertunity by voleentering at the old folks home! When we called we explained that we were missionaries and that we were looking to volenteer there and the lady on the phone was super excited that we called to find out about service she told us that she would love to have us come by and that she wanted to come to our church in hopes of talking to our ward about the volenteering hours! So, that was super neat! I am so excited to be going over there next week to volenteer!

On Wednesday we were able to have a dinner appointment with the Tenenbaums who I have never met before! We were able to share a message with there sweet family and it was such a priveledge to get to know them! What we started doing with our ward we started to go around teaching the members aboout the Restoration in the hopes of them filling comfertable sharing the gospel! So far its been going pretty well! We also had district meeting and got ice cream afterwords!

Thursday, we had dinner with the Wimpees! I always love going over to the Wimpees! We taught them the restoration too. Cool thing though they had a friend there named Peggy  who is not a member of the church and she has been taught by mulitpul missionaries for years! It was cool because we had taught them all the resteration! So theres that!

On Friday and Saturday we had power ups! I was able to go with Sister Stevens and Sister Mansfield was able to go with Sister Knegt! Sister Stevens is so sweet! She is from Star Valley Wyoming and is only 4 months out! She is a really awesome missionary and has some greenie fire! It was so fun to get to spend some time with them! Saturday night we had Stake confrence which talked to us alot about missionary work and how we need to get it rolling! They had some recent converts speak and share their conversion story! I always love hearing Conversion stories!

Sunday we had Stake confrence again and it was so fun to get to see some of the people that I taught during exchanges with Sister Montgomery! After stake confrence we went out tracting and met a guy named Robby. After we were done tracting a very tricky street we decided to go and follow up with a dropped investigator who ended up not being home but instead  we saw Robby picking up stuff and we went over and talked to him. We started talking about who we are and asked if he would be intrested in learning a little bit more (coincidence I think not!) and he said yes! I asked him if he would like a Book of Mormon he was like sure I will take one! He was also excited to start taking the lessons as well! I was so happy towards the end. Cool thing to because towards the end of tracting that tricky street I had this prompting to stop and pray that we will be able to find someone new to teach that is ready to hear the Gospel! God is good people!

I know that if you pray and ask heavinly father something that you are struggling with he will help you! You just got to have that faith that he will!

I love y'all and hope you have a great and fantastic week!
Keep smiling and being you!

Hello my dear family and friends! This week has been really good! We had Zone Confrence this week and a lot of finding oppertunities! I dont even know where to start. Okay, I geuss Ill just start off with Cashia.

On Friday, we went and just tried to talk to as many people as we can in the downtown Chickamauga. The first person we talked to was a women named Cashia. It turns out that her husband is a member of the church and is attending the church down in the Ooltewah ward!! When we explained our purpose to her and asked if she would be intrested in taking lessons from us she and her son said with excitment and ethusiasim. "yeah! I'm intrested!!!" We were both bouncing of the walls with happiness so I cant wait to be able to teach there family!

Saturday was another great day! The elders had refurred us to a girl and a guy named Tiffany and Kyle. It turns out that when the elders where tracting Tiffany chased after them and asked if they could come to there house next to share a message! We were able to follow up with her and got to know her a little bit. She is super cool and is loving the Book of Mormon! We wernt able to really get to talk to Kyle because he was busy. We cant wait to start to teach them more these upcoming weeks!

On Thursday we Had Zone confrence and it was amazing! It basically talked about finding and different ways to find! Which I really loved. It was fun to see all my mission friend again!

Well that is pretty much all the exciting stuff that happened this week! I love y'all so much and hope that you have an amazing week! Miss ya!

Rough but good week

Hello my wonderful, amazing, beautiful family and friends!!!

I hope that y'all had a wonderful week! My week was pretty rough but it was good! Sister Mansfield and I have been doing a lot of tracting these past couple weeks and just trying to find new people to teach and to share the gospel with! This week was pretty busy with moving apartments as well!

Now, I can't remember exactly what day it was but we were able to tract into this cute family. The mom's name is Sonia and she has a daughter named Arianna. We were able to talk to them on there pourch and they seemed pretty intrested so we were able to leave them with a restoration pamphlet and a Book of Mormon and said that they would read it! So, that was pretty cool!

Wednesday we moved apartments like I said earlier. Are lease was up and it was just an old house so the housing cordinator, Sister House decided to move us!:) I was pretty happy not going to lie :). So, we had some help from the district and a couple of members came to help us move so it got the job done quickly! This day was just a day of unpacking and getting settled in! Oh, we also had District meeting in our service clothes so that was a weird experience... hahaha

By Saturday we were really feeling discouraged in our missionary work and in our finding efforts because nobody and I mean nobody! Wanted to talk to us. So, Sister Mansfield and I decided that we were going to pray to know where to go tracting and we both came up with a street that we both felt pretty good about. We went ahead and tracted. The first house we came across we saw two ladies sitting outside smoking so we both went over to talk to them. It turned out that one of the ladies that we were talking to her husband past away not to long ago. So, automatically I reached into my bag to grab... (You geussed it) A plan of Salvation pamphlet! She seemed super greatful for us to come by and give it to her! Hopefully we will see her at church one day!

The same day we tracted into this other guy named Rodney. Not our investigator Rodney but a diffrent one. He was asking us some questions about our belief and "our bible" as people here in the south call the Book of Mormon and we explained a lot to him about where it  came from and where are chruch came from. Out of the blue HE asked us if we can come by next week about the same time to teach him a little bit more! I was like what?! Thats crazy! So we are going to go by next week to teach him!

I just wanted to end this email by sharing with y'all my testimony on prayer. First off, I know that this church is the true church and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god. I know that Heavinly Father hears and answers our prayers even though they may not come the way we expect them too. I love this church, I love my savior and I love serving him!

I hope everyone has a great week and I love and miss y'all so much!

Love,
Sister Jensen
P.S. Sorry this email is kind of scrambled all over the place I am also lacking on picture taking! I will do better next week! Promis!!!

Transfers!

Hello my beautiful family and friends! I hope y'all had a wonderful week! This week was filled with Transfers and tracting! Yes, we had transfers on wednesday and it was hard to say goodbye to Sister Snyder but I kow that she is home with her family now so that makes me happy to hear that! Like I said in my last email my new Companion is Sister Mansfield! She is from Santa Clarita, California! She is awesome! She has only been out 8 months so she came out a transfer after I did. We get along pretty well too.

Monday- Last pday in the field for Snyder it was a lot of fun! We were able to email a bit and head to the park with the district for some fresh air. After we were done hanging out we headed over to meet Henry to go to Rock City! SO fun! I love spending time with him! My brother also got MARRIED as well so that was so fun to see videos of. I am really sad that I wasnt there for it but super happy for them both!

Tuesday- Packing packing packing!! So much packing and cleaning! I also finnished my Journal that day too! So that was really cool!

Wednesday- Transfer day! We headed straght to transfers to drop Snyder off and to pick up my new Comp. Sister Mansfield! She is such a cutie! We have a ton in common and like I said earlier we get along pretty well. After we got back from Transfers we went over to the church to sync and to look at the dinner calender cause those two things are VERY important! We then went over to look at our new place and get some things from Aldi's so it was good.

Thursday- Very busy day! We had district meeting and weekly planning! We then went to a lunch appointment with Sister Blevins who is a super sweet lady. After that we went tracting for a couple of hours. I also hit 9 months! So weird! After tracting we headed back home to update areabook.

Friday- A full day of contacting and finding! We were able to find at least 3 new investigators! So that was pretty great!

Saturday- We were able to have a great lesson with Rodney and We finnished teaching him Temples and Families and taught him about Tithing. Sister Massey another member in our ward was really kind enough to be able to come out with us! She was great! We then went tracting for a couple of more hours until it started to down poor. We then went to ward correlation and then went to bed.

Sunday- We woke up, got ready and went to ward councel and church. Then we went home and did our studies and got ready to basically go see some people. We had a dinner appointment with the Fawsons! I just love that family so much! Then we went contactingnand found some dropped investigators and they seem to be really intrested again so that was pretty dang cool!

Yeah, that is basically everything that happened this week! Real quick though I just wanted to say how much I enjoy being a missionary. I love it because it keeps me busy and I am learning so much about how to become a better person than I already am and just learning more and more about my testimony and making it grow everyday. Like the scriptures say, faith is like a little seed if you plant it, it will grow! We just need to keep watering that seed so that our testimonies can grow stronger!

I love y'all so very much and I hope that you have a great week! Keep smiling and be happy!

love,
Sister Jensen

Round 3 in Chatt Valley

Hello my dear family and friends!

This week has been really good! slow but good! I hope y'all had a wonderful easter weekend and enjoyed General Confrence! What does everyone think about all of the changes that are happening? It's going to be weird for a little while to call Visiting teaching and Home teaching ministering lol. Well I bet y'all are wondering what my week was like so here we go. I will start off the the big news first. First off we had transfer calls on Saturdy and I will be staying here in Chatt Valley for another transfer and Sister Mansfield will be joining me as my new companion! I am looking forward to staying here another transfer and to be with Sister Mansfield!

As I was saying earlier that this week has been a pretty slow week because a lot of our appointments had fell through. On top of all that I was sick for Wednesday and Thursday so that didn't really help all that much, but God was able to get us back onto our feet.

On Tuesday afternoon we were able to meet one of our bible referrals, Everett who is a super cool dude! He had some questions about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. We were able to share a brief scripture with him and answer alot of his questions. He seemed to be really intrested and said that he wants to meet our "pastor" and come to church on Sunday! The only bummer part about Everett is that he said that he is probably moving to Flordia next week which is so sad!

It was Aquilla's birthday on Friday! So, Sister Snyder and I had a awesome idea to sticky note her door! When we pulled up to her house we sawa car sitting in her drive way and we were like crap she's home but decided to just prepare for it anyways. The whole time we were preparing the sticky notes I could feel that someone was watching us but I ignored it because I had no idea who would be watching us. After we were done with the notes I got out to back and all the sudden I hear Aquilla's voice behind me say, "what are you doing?" I just looked at her and tried to get back into the car but she was already walking over to us. We told her what we were doing and she loved it. So we tried to do it later when she wasn't home and the second time was the best!

On Sunday we had lunch with the singletons and dinner with the Forresters. Everett didnt come to church on sunday but that is okay hopefully he would be able to go in Flordia. I also bore my testimony for the first time in this ward and it went pretty good!

Well, that is all for this week! I just want to say that I know that this church is true and that the book of mormon is the key stone to our religion! I love being a missionary and I love the work here!

I hope y'all have a fantastic week and I will talk to y'all next week!I

Sister Jensen
